Welfare Officer Role & Responsibilities

The Welfare Officer role requires a strong and resilient individual who can navigate ethical challenges. This position demands integrity, fairness, and a firm commitment to upholding the values of the K-POP Society. Additionally, the voting procedure is a critical aspect of the role, and it must be taken seriously to ensure transparency and fairness in decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Point of Contact for Concerns:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for members and committee members to raise concerns regarding well-being, inclusivity, or general society matters.
    • Work towards resolving issues fairly and effectively, ensuring all voices are heard.
  2. Support During Society Events:
    • Be present at society events to provide support and assistance to members who may require it.
    • Ensure that events remain a safe and inclusive space for all attendees.
  3. Managing Feedback Forms:
    • Curate and review feedback forms from society members to assess any concerns, suggestions, or improvements.
    • Report key takeaways to the committee and work on implementing necessary changes.
  4. Handling Committee Votes:
    • Privately receive votes from committee members on society issues.
    • In the event of a tied vote (50/50 split), determine which committee member will have the final say.
  5. Anonymous Voting Management:
    • Conduct and oversee anonymous voting processes for general and urgent society matters.
    • Ensure general votes are closed within 48 hours and urgent votes within 24 hours, or as specified in the voting form.
