Position Information
The Publicity Secretary is responsible for promoting the society’s events, activities, and achievements to both members and the wider community. They will use creative design and communication skills to ensure the society is visible, engaging, and well-represented across all media channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and produce engaging publicity materials (posters, graphics, videos, social media content) to promote society events and initiatives.
- Manage the society’s online presence, including social media platforms, website, and email communications.
- Use design tools (e.g. Canva) to create professional, eye-catching promotional content.
- Collaborate with the committee to develop marketing strategies and campaigns.
- Ensure all publicity reflects the society’s brand, values, and voice.
- Liaise with external partners (e.g. student unions, other societies, sponsors) to publicise joint events.
- Keep publicity channels active, up to date, and consistent.
- Seek creative ways to engage members and attract new audiences.
