Position Overview:
The Events Coordinator is a vital role in the Indian Society, responsible for organizing and overseeing cultural, social, and educational events that foster community engagement and celebrate our rich cultural heritage. The person in this role will work closely with the executive committee and other members to plan, execute, and promote events that bring the society's vision to life.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning and Management: Oversee the planning, organization, and execution of events such as festivals, cultural nights, guest speaker sessions, workshops, and social gatherings.
Collaboration: Work closely with the committee members, society members, and external vendors to ensure the smooth running of events.
Budgeting and Fundraising: Manage the budget for events, ensuring costs are within the set limits. Explore fundraising options and sponsorships to support events.
Promotion and Marketing: Lead promotional efforts for events through posters, social media, and word-of-mouth, ensuring good attendance and engagement.
Logistics: Handle the logistics for each event, including securing venues, arranging transportation, coordinating volunteers, and managing supplies.
Feedback and Improvement: After each event, collect feedback from attendees to improve future events and ensure a high level of satisfaction.
Required Skills:
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Experience with event planning is a plus (though not necessary)
Eligibility Criteria:
Must be a member of the Indian Society
Prior experience in organizing events is desirable but not mandatory
Ability to work with a diverse group of people and maintain a positive and inclusive environment.
