The University of Exeter Salsa Society is excited to announce the upcoming election for the position of Publicity Secretary. This crucial role is essential in promoting and raising awareness about the society's events, activities, and opportunities to both members and the wider community. Responsibilities:

1. Promote Society Events: Develop innovative strategies to advertise and promote salsa society events, including workshops, socials, performances, and competitions.
2. Social Media Management: Manage the society's social media platforms, creating engaging content, posting updates, and responding to inquiries to enhance online presence and engage with members and potential members.
3. Graphic Design: Create eye-catching posters, flyers, and digital media to promote society activities, ensuring consistent branding and an appealing visual identity.
4. Collaborate with Committee: Work closely with other committee members to coordinate marketing efforts and align publicity strategies with the overall objectives of the society.
5. Photography and Videography: Capture high-quality photos and videos during society events for promotional purposes.

Qualifications:

1. Enthusiasm for Salsa: A genuine passion for salsa dancing and an understanding of the salsa society's goals and values.
2. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information, engage with members, and attract new participants.
3. Creativity: Ability to think outside the box and come up with innovative marketing ideas that resonate with the target audience.
4. Social Media Proficiency: Experience with managing social media platforms, creating engaging content, and analysing social media metrics is highly desirable.
5. Graphic Design Skills: Proficiency in graphic design software and the ability to create visually appealing promotional materials.
6. Team Player: Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to work effectively within the committee and with external partners.

Election Process:

1. Nomination: Interested individuals should submit their nominations by Sunday 28th of May 2023 at 11:59PM.
2. Candidate Statements: Candidates will have the opportunity to provide a brief statement outlining their qualifications, ideas, and vision for the role. These statements will be shared with society members prior to the election.
3. Voting: Society members will have the opportunity to cast their votes through the Guild's online voting platform. The voting period will be from Monday 29th of May 2023 at 00:00AM to Sunday 6th of June 2023 at 11:59PM.
4. Announcement: The candidate with the highest number of votes will be declared the elected Publicity Secretary and will assume their responsibilities for the upcoming academic year.
