The General Secretary will play a central role in keeping GDSC Exeter organised, coordinated and operating effectively throughout the 2026/27 academic year.

Working closely with the President, Vice President and wider committee, the General Secretary will help ensure that important information, decisions, responsibilities and deadlines are clearly communicated and properly documented.

Key Responsibilities

Help organise committee meetings and support the preparation of agendas where required.

Record clear meeting minutes, key decisions and action points.

Maintain organised records of important society documents, plans, contacts and administrative information.

Track committee actions, responsibilities and deadlines to help ensure tasks are completed.

Support communication between different committee teams and help keep members informed of important updates.

Assist with Students’ Guild administration, society requirements and documentation where necessary.

Help coordinate event planning information, internal schedules and committee logistics.

Support the President and Vice President with administrative and organisational tasks.

Help maintain continuity by ensuring important information and decisions are properly recorded and accessible.

Support committee onboarding and handover processes where required.

Contribute actively to GDSC Exeter events, projects and wider committee initiatives throughout the year.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, dependable and detail-oriented, with strong written communication, time-management and teamwork skills. They should be proactive, comfortable coordinating with different committee members and willing to contribute actively to the wider development of GDSC Exeter.
