The Vice President will work closely with the President and wider GDSC Exeter committee to help lead the society, support the delivery of events and initiatives, and ensure the committee operates effectively throughout the 2026/27 academic year.

The Vice President acts as a key point of support to the President and should be prepared to take on leadership responsibilities across the society when required.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with the President to support the overall direction, strategy and development of GDSC Exeter.

Help build and coordinate a motivated, innovative and reliable committee.

Support the planning and delivery of events, workshops, speaker sessions, projects and other society initiatives.

Propose new events and ideas that help develop the society and provide value to the University’s developer community.

Support committee members who bring forward strong event or project concepts and help turn those ideas into successful initiatives.

Help coordinate relationships with the University, Students’ Guild, Google-related programmes, sponsors, speakers and other external organisations.

Support collaboration between different committee teams and ensure projects are progressing effectively.

Step in for the President when required and help maintain continuity across the society.

Encourage student-led teaching, knowledge sharing and opportunities for students to develop technical and professional skills.

Help create an inclusive community where students of different backgrounds and experience levels feel able to participate.

Contribute actively to wider committee responsibilities and support major GDSC Exeter activities throughout the year.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, organised and confident working with others, with strong leadership and communication skills and a genuine interest in supporting the developer community at Exeter.
