As the Careers Officer, your role is integral to providing career-focused guidance and opportunities to members of the Economics Society. You'll work to create events and offer advice that helps shape members' professional futures. Here are the key aspects of your role:
- Career Event Planning: Organize and manage career-centered events, such as job fairs, workshops, and networking sessions, tailored to the interests and needs of Society members.
- Career Advice Provision: Offer reliable and insightful career advice to members, helping them navigate their professional paths effectively.
- Collaboration with Academia: Work closely with the VP of Academics to align career events and advice with the Society's academic objectives and member aspirations.
- Industry Connection Development: Foster relationships with industry professionals and alumni for guest lectures, mentorship opportunities, and career insights.
- Resource Curation: Compile and distribute career-related resources, including job listings, internship opportunities, and educational materials.
- Professional Network Expansion: Facilitate the expansion of members’ professional networks through structured events and interactions with industry figures.
- Feedback and Adaptation: Gather member feedback on career services and events, using insights to adapt and improve future offerings.
