As Treasurer, you hold a key financial position in the Economics Society, ensuring effective and responsible management of funds. Your main responsibilities include:
- Financial Oversight: Manage the Society's accounts, budgeting, and spending in alignment with its goals.
- Transaction Authorization: Conduct money transfers with presidential approval, maintaining fiscal integrity.
- Record Keeping: Keep detailed, accurate financial records, and take responsibility for unauthorized expenditures.
- Annual Budgeting: Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring financial stability.
- Membership Monitoring: Ensure all members have paid their dues.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present a yearly financial report detailing transactions to the committee.
- Event Budget Compliance: Secure necessary approvals for event budgets, especially for VAT exemption requirements.
- Advisory Role: Provide ongoing financial advice and support to future treasurers and the presidency.
- Sponsorship and Funding: Work with external partners to secure sponsorships and funding for events and opportunities.
