As the Social Secretary, your role is pivotal in creating vibrant and memorable social experiences for the members of the Economics Society. You'll focus on organizing events that cater to diverse interests and foster a strong community spirit. Here’s a snapshot of your key responsibilities:
- Diverse Event Planning: Develop a range of social events that align with members' interests, ensuring they are engaging and offer good value.
- Social Coordination: Organize various social gatherings throughout the term, including forging relationships with other societies, local venues, and club representatives.
- Key Event Organization: Take the lead in organizing major events like the Christmas Ball, the Annual General Meeting (AGM), and the End of Financial Year Dinner.
- Publicity Liaison: Work closely with the publicity team to ensure timely and effective promotion of events.
- Community Engagement: Innovate new strategies and events to enhance the communal atmosphere within the Society, in consultation with academic and sports secretaries.
- Inter-Society Collaboration: Coordinate with social secretaries from other societies for joint social events.
- Funding and Sponsorship: Collaborate with the Treasurer and Academic Secretaries to secure sponsorships and partnerships, aiding in event financing and networking opportunities.
