Position Information
As the General Secretary, your role is pivotal in maintaining the smooth operation and communication within the Economics Society. You'll work closely with key committee members and handle various administrative responsibilities. Here are your main duties:
- Leadership Support: Collaborate with the Vice-President and President in leading the committee and representing it at society events.
- Committee Transition Management: Oversee the handover process between committees, ensuring effective induction for new members.
- Committee Support: Assist all committee members in their roles, focusing on their wellbeing and efficient execution of responsibilities.
- Event Organisation: Manage logistics like room bookings for events, and work with relevant committee members for event planning.
- Communication Oversight: Handle internal and external communications, including creating and managing the yearly mailing list.
- Calendar Management: Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Secretary to keep the Society's external calendar updated.
- Mail Correspondence: Respond to external mail and manage weekly communications with members.
- Email Management: Oversee the society's email account, ensuring prompt and coordinated responses with the marketing secretary.
