The Vice-President of Academics is a pivotal role in the University of Exeter's Economics Society, focusing on the academic aspects of the Society. Your role will involve communication, leadership, and ensuring the Society meets its educational goals. Here's what the role encompasses:

  1. Academic Communication and Leadership: Act as the primary academic communicator between the committee and members. Share leadership duties with the other vice-president.
  2. Presidential Representation: Stand in for the President when they are absent, providing leadership and direction, particularly in academic-related committee roles.
  3. Supporting Academic Roles: Assist the Academic Secretaries and Careers Officers in their duties, ensuring that all members are actively engaged with the Society's academic initiatives.
  4. Implementing the President's Vision: Follow the President's directions, particularly in terms of academic goals and initiatives, and ensure these are realized throughout the academic year.
  5. Assistance in Academic Event Management: Help the President in all aspects of the Society’s management, with a specific focus on academic events.
  6. Mediating Role: Work in tandem with the General Secretary, acting as a bridge between the committee and the President.
  7. Oversight of Academic Activities: Oversee all academic actions, events, and communications, ensuring they align with the Society's standards and goals.
  8. Ensuring Societal Alignment: Constantly verify that the Society is adhering to its intended role and strategy, particularly in academic matters.
  9. Leading Academic Recruitment Efforts: Take charge of the Society's recruitment campaign during freshers’ week, emphasizing the academic opportunities and benefits offered.
