Responsibilities for VP 25/26

  • Put together a team of dedicated and innovative individuals to support you in making ground breaking tech events.
  • Support any event run (this is organisation, recruiting, course etc.)
  • Propose new events to push the society further
  • Be the primary contact point between larger collectives (University, Google, sponsors etc.) and the society.
  • Support the creation of new events by individuals who come with a strong concept and a concrete plan to make it happen. GDSC supports those who have ideas that can help other students.

The primary role of GDSC, and by extension the President, is to support the developer community at the University. To do this, a few key points need to be respected.

  • Most of the time, students will be more impactful teachers than normal lecturers. This is because there is a higher level of understanding between students trying to learn something new. Having events where students teach also helps grow the sense of community, attract the attention of talented students and improve the employability of students who get involved.
  • Put yourself in the position of people new to tech. Abstract unnecessary details, keep accessibility of events in mind at all times: Can new people get value from this, no matter the background?
  • You are not alone. Ask for help when you need it! If you don't you will burn out and the quality of what the society creates will be lower.
