Publicity is responsible for creating and posting content to the society’s social media pages. This role would be great for someone with an understanding of different social media platforms and who enjoys creating lovely looking posts. Of course, like every role you will have to be organised, a good team worker and willing to spend time improving the society’s image. It is beneficial if you have knowledge of video editing and using a design software, but this is not essential and can be picked up easily.

For freshers, the publicity officer will make a promotional video advertising the society, its lessons, socials and competitions we attend. Freshers will also involve making flyers or QR codes to hand out on Forum Hill to advertise to new members and advertising freshers week events on our social media pages. 

Publicity Officer will work closely with the Team Captains to advertise the lessons and upcoming events. They will also communicate in the creation of certificates for all that attend competitions as well as special recognition certificates. Social Sec and Publicity will work together in advertising socials and balls! This could include deciding on a theme, physical tickets, name places and table decorations for a ball or creating facebook events and posts for a social. Publicity also works closely with the Fundraising Officer to put on Exeter does Strictly. You will be involved with creating promo, the programme, and training videos.
