Position Information
Requirement: You must have been on the XTV Committee before.
(Message Amelia if interested but have not been on committee before).
Can have 2 station managers.
You can run as a pair or individually. On the voting page you will appear as separate candidates, and recieve individual votes.
Duties:
- As Station Manager you are responsible for running the station.
- You will be required to monitor, and deal with any enquiries that come through the stationmanagers@xtvonline.co.uk email.
- You will need to monitor all XTV social media platforms, FIXR and the XTV members chat to ensure that the society is engaging with it's members.
- Must be familiar with all the duties of the other committee roles to help those committee members.
- You must maintain an overview of the stations progress, actively gather ideas, and make and take suggestions for improvement.
- Speak often with the Head of Creative(s), ensuring they are on schedule and progressing with projects and ensure they are released online!
- You will be required to book out equipment and setting up and establishing project budgets.
- Organise committee meetings with deputy SM.
- You will be required to organize annual committee elections, and mid-term elections as well (if you so choose to do so).
- Setup stash, or work with the Deputy station manager to do so
- You are responsible for uploading content to the XTV YouTube channel
- You are Responsible for communication with external student bodies, such as other Stations and NaSTA. To assist in the preparation of any necessary administration for entering XTV programmes to the NaSTA awards.
- Station manager has the responsibility to write and sign off financial forms of the society, such as equipment purchases and payments, which is done through Expenses on the Guild. (You work with the Head of Business and Finance, and Deputy Station Manager to ensure that these purchases are made for XTV). Also have to sort out the annual risk assessment at the start of the year.
- Before fresher’s week you will need to organise a fresher’s stall, ensure committee are present and recruiting new members, as well ass go into film, drama and English 1st year welcome talks to promote XTV.
- At the end of the academic year you will work towards an effective handover period, ensuring accurate logs, information and records of correspondence are kept.
