As Academic Secretary, you’ll be responsible for shaping the academic and professional side of PPE Society, delivering events that add real value to your degree and go beyond lectures and seminars πŸ§ πŸ“ˆ

This role is ideal if you’re intellectually curious, organised, and interested in creating spaces for discussion, learning, and career exploration within PPE 🀝✨

πŸ”‘ Key Responsibilities:

  • 🎀 Organise academic talks, panels, and speaker events, featuring academics, professionals, and alumni relevant to PPE students
  • πŸ›οΈ Work closely with the President to deliver flagship academic initiatives, including professional panels and cross university events
  • πŸ“… Plan an engaging academic calendar, balancing thought-provoking discussions, skills based sessions, and careers focused events
  • 🀝 Liaise with university departments, academics, and external speakers to secure speakers and coordinate events
  • 🧠 Support intellectual engagement within the society by encouraging debate, discussion, and interdisciplinary thinking
  • πŸ“£ Collaborate with Publicity and Social Secretaries to ensure academic events are well promoted and well attended
  • πŸ“ Oversee event logistics, including bookings, timings, and coordination on the day
