What this job really looks like:

The publicity officer ensures that Debsoc events are well-publicised to members by producing regular social media posts. Given the amount of events we run, this can be a lot of work and also provides lots of opportunities for other creative uses of our social media. This role also requires a lot of communication with other departments to ensure that events are publicised in a timely fashion. You will need to liaise with every department and make multiple posts every week; this requires a strong sense of work/life balance and patience to deal with fluctuating deadlines. Desirable traits include experience and confidence with social media, creative and design experience, good understanding of brand identity, communication skills, organisation, and an ability to work with a variety of remits for different types of events.
