The Footlights Welfare Officer is a role that is vital within the society. As Welfare Officer you will have a duty of care towards all members, ensuring that they have a healthy, happy, and manageable experience whilst part of Footlights. It is important for a Welfare Officer to be mature and, when necessary, objective. The Welfare Officer’s role is to be able to recognise when someone needs help from services/helplines outside of the society. The officer must take a proactive role in reminding all members of the services that the university offers regarding wellbeing and support. It is crucial for the Welfare Officer to normalise mental health problems and to encourage openness from Footlights’ members.
Please talk to our current Company Welfare Officer, Annabel, for any more information on what the role entails.
