The President:

• Shall be ultimately responsible for the Society, its activity, and its development.
• Shall chair General Meetings of the Society and Society Committee Meetings (unless absent, when the President can delegate another to do so)
• Shall be responsible for ensuring that the Society Committee liaises with the Guild, and that the Society and its Members are represented in any relevant Guild processes.
• Shall ensure the Society is operating in line with the Guild’s governing documents and compliance policies and processes; and,
• Shall have overall responsibility for the promotion and development for the society, including by providing a weekly communication to the membership.
• Deals with crisis management and aids with financial and admin related issues where needed.
• Oversees communication with external organisations and people where needed.
• Is the public face of the society, with final say on the fresher’s week programme and delivering presidential announcements before events. Will make sure to work with other committee members to get feedback from the membership and will lead on membership interaction to make sure they are enjoying the society and feel connected to the committee.
• Shall manage the society calendar, getting final say over when events take place.
• Shall support the other Committee roles to deliver their remit, by providing oversight of the day-to-day operation of the committee.
• Shall attend welfare training and be aware of the welfare of members
• Shall be responsible for society publicity where appropriate in the role
