Position Information

Vice President (Admin and Finance): 

  • Shall be responsible for the financial operations of the Society, acting as both the Accountant and Chief Financial Officer
  • Shall set and oversee the Society’s annual budget with advice from the president and present a financial report to all members at the annual General Meeting. They should also give 2 updates per term to the committee on the financial situation of the society.
  • Shall aim to ensure that the Society is not running a deficit at any time.
  • Shall be responsible for Society's funding applications, working with the vice president admin to put a sponsorship package together and working with the president to identify and liaise with sponsorship targets.
  • Shall ensure that income, expenses and other outgoing payments are authorised in a timely manner.
  • Shall ensure that fundraising is organised where appropriate.
  • Shall work to utilise guild funding opportunities such as the alumni fund.
  • Shall deputise for the President, providing leadership and direction to the other Committee roles where required.
  • Shall be responsible for keeping minutes of the meetings of the committee, and of general meetings of the society.
  • Shall ensure all members are engaging with the society.
  • Shall keep an up-to-date inventory of equipment owned by the society.
  • Shall be responsible for the society’s recruitment and retention of members, by developing a strategy with the President.
  • Shall be able to veto presidential decisions on constitutional matters and committee positions with support of the other Vice President
  • Shall attend welfare training and be aware of the welfare of members
  • Shall be responsible for society publicity where appropriate in the role
