Social secretary is a very work heavy position and is not for everyone. You are expected to keep frequent communication with members, promote the society, contact venues for bookings, contact other societies for collaborations, deal with any emails sent to the society, show up to events, be sociable, encourage attendance, help plan events, etc.

This position is best if you are able to maintain good organisation, are able to communicate with others, pay close attention to detail in what you do and that you are able to troubleshoot during events.
