Candidate Information for EUCA Elections

Application Period

• Opens: Tuesday, February 25th, 2025 at 17:00
• Closes: Monday, March 3rd, 2025 at 23:59

During this period, eligible members should submit their applications for the committee position they wish to stand for. Be sure to complete your application before the deadline, as late submissions will not be considered.

Voting Period

• Opens: Tuesday, March 4th, 2025 at 00:05
• Closes: Friday, March 7th, 2025 at 23:55

All members will have the opportunity to cast their votes during this window using the Guild's online election system. Results will be announced by the Returning Officer after voting closes and votes are counted.

Eligibility & Nominations As a full member of the Exeter University Conservative Association, you are eligible to stand for any committee position, including Executive Committee roles (Chairman, Deputy Chairman - Membership & Finance, and Returning Officer). Associate members may run for non-executive positions only.

Voting System Elections use the First-Past-the-Post system through a secret ballot. This means the candidate with the most votes for each position wins, regardless of whether they achieve a majority. Focus your campaign on maximizing your direct support rather than seeking second-preference votes.

Campaign Guidelines While campaigning, you should:

• Clearly communicate your vision for the role and the society
• Highlight relevant experience and skills
• Abide by Guild election regulations
• Maintain respectful conduct toward other candidates

Term of Office If elected, you will serve for one year before needing to stand for re-election. There will be a one-month transition period where you'll work alongside the outgoing committee member to ensure a smooth handover.
