General Secretary – Nomination Information
We are introducing the new role of General Secretary to support the smooth running of Gig Society as our membership continues to grow past 170+. This role is essential in helping the committee stay organised, responsive and effective throughout the rest of the academic year.
The General Secretary will work closely with the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Events Manager and Social & Welfare Secretary to ensure the society runs efficiently day-to-day. Key responsibilities include:
Managing admin and communication across the committee
Supporting event planning and logistics
Helping coordinate society projects, collabs and key dates
Responding to member enquiries and helping maintain an inclusive, welcoming environment
Overseeing society stash orders for Term 2
Taking minutes when necessary and keeping documents updated
This role is perfect for someone who is organised, reliable and proactive, and enjoys helping a team operate at its best. You do not need prior experience — just a willingness to get involved and a positive, supportive attitude.
This is also a great opportunity for members who may want to take on a more senior committee role next year and would like to gain insight into how the society operates behind the scenes.
