The Musical Director (MD) is responsible for the musical quality and development of the group. They lead rehearsals, arrange music, and ensure the group performs at a high standard. Key responsibilities include:
Musical Leadership: Teaching and conducting songs, guiding vocal technique, blend, tuning, and dynamics during rehearsals and performances.
Arranging: Creating or sourcing vocal arrangements that suit the group’s voices and style.
Rehearsal Planning: Designing effective rehearsals that balance technical work, musicality, and progress toward upcoming performances or competitions.
Auditions & Voice Parts: Leading musical elements of auditions, voice placements, and potentially helping with solo selection.
Collaboration: Working closely with the President and other committee members to align musical goals with logistical planning (e.g. for gigs, competitions, or tours).
