The Publicity Secretary is in charge of the group’s public image and communications, ensuring performances, projects, and the group itself are well-promoted and professionally presented. They handle branding, social media, and outreach to help build the group’s audience and reputation. Key responsibilities include:
Social Media Management: Running the group’s platforms (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, Facebook), posting regular content such as rehearsal clips, promo videos, posters, and member highlights.
Promotion of Events: Designing and distributing promotional material (digital and physical) for gigs, fundraisers, competitions, and shows (e.g. Edinburgh Fringe).
Visual Branding: Maintaining a consistent and engaging visual style for the group across all platforms and publicity materials.
Photography & Video: Coordinating or capturing photos and videos from performances and rehearsals for content and archives.
Audience Engagement: Growing the group’s reach through online presence, community engagement, and potential press opportunities.
Collaboration: Working with the committee to align promotion with group goals (e.g. ticket sales, fundraising, member recruitment).
