The two Placement and Mentor Scheme Coordinators will liaise with consultant surgeons at the hospital to provide regular surgical placements, ensure students are allocated these fairly and provide information and guidance as to what they should expect on the day. There is also the possibility of setting up the Mentor Scheme which would involve matching students who are interested in a career in Surgery to a surgical trainee, then facilitating regular meetings to help the students develop their CVs.
