• Serve as the principal officer and spokesperson for the society.
• Chair committee meetings, the AGM, and EGMs, ensuring effective discussion and decision-making.
• Represent the society in meetings with elected representative officers and external stakeholders.
• Oversee the promotion, development, and long-term strategy of the society.
• Ensure compliance with The Guild’s Bylaws, policies, and guidelines.
• Approve and sign off financial forms in collaboration with the Treasurer.
• Manage official communication with the Activities Team and external entities.
• Work with the Treasurer and Vice President to secure sponsorship deals.
• Collaborate with the Vice President to organise the society’s international trip.
• Support and oversee the responsibilities of all committee members.
Skills required to succeed in the role
• Leadership & Decision-Making – Ability to guide the society’s vision and manage a team effectively.
• Public Speaking & Representation – Strong communication skills to act as the society’s face in meetings and events.
• Event Planning & Organisation – Experience in planning and executing large-scale events and initiatives.
• Financial Literacy – Proficiency in budgeting, sponsorship negotiation, and financial oversight.
• Networking & Relationship Building – Ability to engage with professionals and secure partnerships.
• Problem-Solving & Adaptability – Capability to handle challenges and ensure smooth operations.
• Collaboration & Teamwork – Experience in leading and working with diverse teams.
