PERFORMANCE TEAM COORDINATOR

As Performance Team Coordinator you are required to organise and run the Performance Team. This involves organising auditions for dancers and choreographers at the beginning of the year. Throughout the year, you will need to liaise with the committee, dancers, and choreographers. This requires great communication and organisation skills! You’ll be assisting your choreographers in any issues they have and ensure everyone on the team is having a good time. You’ll also need to find and organise termly performances for the squad to perform at; this means you will need to be comfortable with approaching several societies, external companies and events, and often requires thinking ahead about up and coming opportunities! Once events are booked you will also need to liaise with the event organisers on things like music, stage space, and timings.

Another big part of your role is being one of the key organisers with the VP for the Winter and Spring Showcases, this involves booking the venue, liaising with other societies if you choose to collaborate, talking with coaches so they are clear on what is happening, and liaising with the treasurer to organise payments and ticket prices.

Whilst coordinating performances, you will also be expected to be a representative at as many events as possible, and help out with society events with the rest of the committee. You are also responsible for arranging fundraising events for the team alongside the Competition Team Coordinator. You will need to be an organised and very approachable person; it is the perfect position if you would like to go into events organising! You will also need to be someone who can make the Performance Team a fun, friendly environment whilst still instilling a high level of commitment from all team members. This role is hard work but is also hugely rewarding and really fun to be so involved in Dance Society.
