XpressionFM Committee Election 2023/2024

  • XpressionFM

Election Information

These are the positions up for election as a part of the XpressionFM Committee, to take up the positions for the 2023/2024 Academic Year.

For the positions of Station Manager, Deputy Station Manager, and Programmes Controller, it is recommended that candidates have spent at least one year on the XpressionFM Committee, however this is not required for the other roles up for election.

In order to be considered as a candidate in these elections, you must:

  • Be a full member of XpressionFM
    • Any membership is valid, whether it is for the full year, Terms 2/3 , or just Term 3.
  • Submit a manifesto/personal statement of any length, for members to see what you have in store for the station
    • We recommend keeping the manifesto short enough to be easily read, but long enough to have detail - perhaps around 500 words? But don't see that as anything prescriptive, it's really up to you how much or little you want to write.
  •  Attend the Hustings Session (either in person, which is recommended, or virtually, which can be arranged) in the second week of May (dates to be confirmed soon)

For this election, candidates may apply for ONE Executive Level Position (Station Manager, Deputy Station Manager, Programmes Controller) and ONE Non-Executive Level Position (any other position). If candidates are successful in both elections, then they will automatically be selected for the Executive Level position, unless clearly stated otherwise by the candidate BEFORE NOMINATIONS CLOSE.

Any positions which these elections cannot fill will have their elections re-run, unless the committee of the station believe it in the best interest of consistent and stable organisation of the station to appoint an individual to the position, at which point applicants for such an appointments procedure will be requested to come forward.

If you have any questions about the elections, or the process, please email stationmanager@xpression.fm or contact any of the station social media channels, where someone will be able to get an answer to you.
