Shotgun’s Marketing and Events management involves managing the society’s publicity
within and beyond the university, and leading society events and socials. Orchestrating and
presenting the society’s desired image is no small task - it requires being creative,
Open minded, patient, encouraging and supportive, in order to maintain the positive
environment and out-facing ‘brand’ of our fun-loving, professional and inclusive society.
Adaptability and originality are essential for this role, especially during this uncertain time, as
there is the possibility that some events may have to be run online to begin with. Experience
of events planning and/or hosting is desirable, but above all you need enthusiasm, strong time
management and the ability to bring the fun to a perhaps very busy time in the student
calendar.
Your role will include:
- Having creative input into the Society’s image, both within the student body and the general public
- Maintaining a consistent and professional social media presence
- Leading the organisation of Freshers Week events
- Communicating with Committee to establish and maintain clear, cohesive publicity and a strong marketing strategy for everything from auditions to socials
- Organising and hosting Open Mic Cabaret evenings, including venue and equipment booking
- Liaising with the Marketing and Fundraising teams of the ongoing Shotgun
- Theatre productions to reinforce the inclusivity and strengthen the bonds created through our society
This year we have decided to combine our roles of events alongside a marketing role. Shotgun’s Marketing management involves managing the society’s publicity within and beyond the university. Orchestrating and presenting the society’s desired image is no small task - it requires being creative, open-minded, patient, encouraging and supportive, in order to maintain the positive environment and out-facing ‘brand’ of our fun-loving, professional and inclusive society.
