The Treasurer is responsible for the finances of the society. This includes things like societies for equipment hires, purchasing spare parts or new equipment, and approving expense claims from members. The Treasurer is responsible for leading the operations side of the society, so this means working with the Equipment Manager and the Workshop Supervisor to ensure they have everything they need to carry out their duties efficiently and professionally. The Treasurer will also work with the Equipment Manager to put together any grant applications for new equipment by researching, shortlisting, and writing the application. Whilst these responsibilities may be seen as a step up from a treasurer position in another society, no previous experience is necessary. However, a willingness to learn about clear communication skills, and pay attention to detail.
