The role of the Treasurer is to manage the society's finances, deal with expense claims and payments, and is responsible for ensuring that the society is in a strong financial position throughout the year. 

Being Treasurer is one of the most important roles on committee, as in order for the society to continue to provide brilliant events it is crucial we are in a good financial position - and it is your job as Treasurer to make sure that this is the case.
