  • Her Campus

Election Information

Hello everyone,

I am thrilled to share exciting news – Her Campus will be holding a by-election throughout October to fill vacant roles on our committee. Interested? here are the positions which are available:

  • Social Secretary: This role involves organizing fortnightly socials and collaborating with the treasurer to ensure venues and social activities are are booked and planned in advance. If you're enthusiastic about creating fun and inclusive gatherings, apply!
  • Publicity Secretary: This role involves handling HCX's social media channels, creating content, and sharing updates regarding society events. Some typical posts include: weekly article round-ups, and images from socials. This role is perfect for someone with a creative eye and social media savvy, but previous experience is not essential.
  • General Secretary: This role is relatively low-responsibility, and would involve anything from room-booking (for committee meetings / article planning sessions), to note taking, and ensuring smooth communication between committee members. This position is perfect for people who are organised and like planning!
  • Welfare Secretary: As the Welfare Secretary, you serve as the primary support contact, ensuring the well-being and comfort of our members. Your role includes collaborating closely with the Publicity and Social Secretaries to create inclusive and considerate social media content and events. Your dedication ensures a supportive and welcoming environment within our chapter.
  • Representative Roles: In line with my presidential pledge to diversify our writing team, we're opening positions for Queer/LGBTQIA+, BAME, Postgraduate, and Disability representatives. These positions are pivotal in diversifying our content - responsibilities would vary but could include advocating for respective communities, encouraging relevant articles, and collaborating with the social sec to organise inclusive events. Such positions are ideal if you are passionate about fostering diversity and inclusion!

By-Election Timeline:

19th to 25th October: Nomination period opens. Apply via the guild site with a manifesto.

26th to 28th October: Voting opens for a 3-day period, closing on the 28th at 2pm.

Thank you for your attention - we look forwarding to reading your manifestos and seeing your engagement with our platform.❤️

Warm Regards,

HCXO
