Position Information

The role of Vice President is extremely rewarding as you will gain an invaluable insight into the overseeing of a society as well as all of the productions. I would recommend this position to a highly organised and motivated individual as your main responsibility will be to organise and take minutes for regular committee meetings, ensure auditions and interviews are organised and run smoothly, and provide support throughout the show process to creatives, cast and prod alike. The Vice President works closely with the President, so a good working relationship is key to this role so that you can resolve time sensitive issues, assist your President with problems big and small and represent your society’s interests. You will also often be the first point of call for any queries so being friendly and approachable is also important!

The role begins in the summer and requires efficient timetabling: you will have multiple deadlines for shows, auditions and external company questions but ultimately you are part of a larger community of Theatre at Exeter which is great for developing teamwork and leadership skills. I have also introduced more events and even a Bristol tour this year so this role offers you the opportunity to bring new creative events and bring theatre to a wider audience. We have added the role of Co- Artistic Director this year and I have hugely enjoyed bringing all of the wonderful creative people’s visions to life and am so grateful to my committee for making my final year full of such incredible theatre!
