The Production Supervisor role is very hands-on, as you will be the main point of communication between the creative/prod teams and committee.
Responsibilities include:
- Attending prod team meetings and some rehearsals to ensure that everything is running smoothly
- Ensuring that information is communicated from committee to creative teams to help make sure show deadlines are met
- Supporting producers and directors in all their responsibilities and helping them achieve their creative vision - specifically, supporting producers who haven’t produced before to understand their role
- Supporting other committee members in their roles and being a team player
- Attending auditions and production team interviews
- Keeping up to date with Facebook group chats
- Making recommendations for the production
- Stepping in where needed, if the producer is unable to do something
- Attending EUTCo events, workshops and fundraisers
The role of production supervisor is integral to EUTCo’s functioning as a society. Prod sups must be willing to be flexible to fill the needs of whatever production is at hand. I have absolutely loved being a part of EUTCo committee, and seeing productions and people flourish has been a wonderfully rewarding experience. The role of production supervisor has been integral to my T@E experience: it’s been great to peek behind the committee curtain, be involved at all stages of the production process, and I’ve been so glad for the opportunity to interact, advise and make friends with so many talented people. All the best of luck to next year’s committee. I’m sure you’ll love it!
