As president you get to dip into lots of different areas and be involved with all the wonderful parts of society life. From delegating tasks, to setting deadlines, to ensuring tasks are completed you’ll be keeping track of everything that goes on. You’ll be the chair of weekly committee meetings and you’ll be the one to bring the focus back if conversation goes off topic! It’s important to check in with your committee members regularly and be ready to step in with any jobs they need help with. For the past couple of years, the president has been responsible for submitting events to the activities system and creating any risk assessments. It may seem that there is a lot to do, but with a clear and efficient admin system it is definitely manageable. You and the new committee have a chance to make things your own and have so much fun. It is a genuinely rewarding and incredible experience.
