The Social Secretary is responsible for organizing and overseeing social events and activities that create a community and enable better engagement within the society. The role involves creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere for members. As part of this role you will be expected to book venues so EUOWSS members can continue to socialise on dry land and maintain their free membership! This year’s social events have included pub quizzes, a scavenger hunt around town and glass and candle painting. You will also need to liaise with the guild organising Event Approvals and Risk Assessments. Within this role you should feel confident organising and running socials throughout the year organising tickets, collaborating with other societies and working closely with the publicity sec to promote them!
