The General Secretary plays a dynamic role on the Society’s committee. They undertake a range of administrative tasks, including taking minutes of committee meetings, keeping a record of equipment owned by the group, booking rooms, managing FIXR tickets, and other online administrative matters such as the OneDrive. In addition, they shall lead and run social events for the Society and are responsible for any welfare issues at society events or activities, should they arise. This might sound like a lot, but as any committee member can, you can negotiate with your colleagues about delegating tasks at some points. Desirable qualities include good coordination, good with admin and technology, and being a good listener especially when responding to welfare concerns.
