The President is the main representative and spokesperson for the Society. They have overall responsibility for the promotion and development of the Society. They chair committee meetings, the AGM, and EGMs. They have the overall responsibility to communicate with the Students’ Guild and ensure all groups’ activities are risk assessed and do no contravene the Guild’s byelaws. The President works with the other committee members to ensure they complete their individual tasks and assists them where necessary. However, one must acknowledge the additional responsibility that comes with the role. At times, the job can be stressful, and people/team management is an important aspect of the role. Desirable qualities include being a good listener, good communication, and resilience.
