Position Information

Coaches

 

Teaching Choreography

Coaches are responsible for teaching choreography for various dance routines and performances. 

Break down complex dance moves into manageable steps, provide demonstrations, and offer feedback to help dancers improve their technique and execution. 

 

Technique Instruction

Coaches offer instruction on fundamental dance techniques. They help dancers develop proper technique and form to enhance their performance quality and prevent injuries. 

 

Skill Development

Coaches identify areas for skill development and provide targeted exercises and drills to help dancers improve specific aspects of their dancing, such as flexibility, rhythm, strength, balance, and coordination. 

 

Rehearsal Direction

During rehearsals, coaches oversee the execution of choreography, provide corrections and adjustments as needed, and ensure that dancers are working together cohesively as a team. Lead warm-up exercises and cool-downs to prepare dancers physically and mentally for rehearsals and performances. 

 

Performance Preparation

Coaches prepare dancers for performances by refining choreography, polishing movements, and addressing any technical or artistic challenges. 

Provide guidance on stage presence, expression, and storytelling to enhance the overall performance impact. 

 

Feedback and Evaluation

Coaches offer constructive feedback to dancers on their performance, technique, and progress. They identify areas of improvement and provide encouragement and support to help dancers reach their full potential. 

 

Motivation and Inspiration

Coaches inspire and motivate dancers to strive for excellence, overcome challenges, and pursue their passion for dance. 

Create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where dancers of all abilities feel empowered to push their boundaries.  

Artistic Direction

In collaboration with the society's leadership team, coaches may contribute to the artistic direction of performances, including music selection, theme development, and overall creative vision.
