Position Information

Being VP has been an amazing opportunity to get involved in all different ways within the society and production process. You can work with the President to shape the role to your collective strengths. This year the role has entailed: supporting the presidents with admin and organisation, working with the production supervisors, sorting venues, organising and managing meetings, helping to oversee productions, popping into rehearsals and generally being an active presence in the society to help out wherever and whenever is needed. It’s a fantastic opportunity to gain lots of new skills in lots of different areas and learn about the entire production process!

A Shotgun Treasurer is responsible for all the financial aspects that need to be considered before, during, and after a show. By liaising with the producers about show budgets, sorting invoices, and being responsible for handling funds at our cabarets, we have an important duty to make sure the society's accounts are properly managed. This rewarding role allows you to act as a bridge between the committee and producers to make a basic logistical and financial backbone of a show, even making it possible for the society to produce a fringe show! The position requires enthusiasm, good organisational skills as well as clear communication skills. It is a role where you will have a great deal of responsibility but also need to be receptive to the financial needs of the shows that are being put on. This role requires an understanding of basic mathematics and VAT as well as organisation, teamwork and leadership skills. You are responsible for keeping the wild dreams of committee and creatives in check by providing a realistic financial perspective - even if it makes you feel like the bad guy!
