“5.13.1. Shall be responsible for organising various social events for the society,

which should be varied and may be debating related or not; and,

5.13.2. Shall be responsible for ensuring members remain safe and well during

social events.”

What this job really looks like:

Social secs are responsible for organising our society socials ranging from PowerPoint nights to the rail ale trails to our Winter and Spring balls. This involves everything from calling pubs to making seating arrangements to planning event schedules. Desirable traits include good communication skills, organisational ability and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere at socials.
