The Treasurer will share responsibility for managing SASOC’s finances throughout the 2026/27 academic year, working closely with the other Treasurer and the wider committee to ensure the society’s finances are managed responsibly, transparently and effectively.
SASOC will have two Treasurers, who will work collaboratively and share responsibility for the financial management of the society.
Key Responsibilities
Manage SASOC’s budgeting, financial planning and monitoring of society expenditure alongside the other Treasurer.
Maintain accurate records of income, expenditure, reimbursements and event costs.
Prepare and manage budgets for socials, cultural celebrations, collaborations and other society activities.
Support funding applications, sponsorship income and other sources of society revenue where required.
Ensure society spending follows Students’ Guild financial procedures and appropriate approval processes.
Work with committee members to assess the financial feasibility of proposed events, initiatives and purchases.
Keep the wider committee informed about SASOC’s financial position and available budgets.
Work collaboratively with the other Treasurer to divide responsibilities and maintain continuity throughout the year.
Help identify opportunities to improve the society’s financial sustainability and make effective use of available funding.
Contribute actively to the wider running of SASOC and support committee events and initiatives throughout the academic year.
The ideal candidate will be organised, reliable, financially responsible and comfortable working with numbers. They should also be a strong communicator, able to work collaboratively with the other Treasurer and willing to contribute actively to the wider committee.
