The elected Head of Station Sound and Podcasting will lead the creation, and upkeep, of the station’s audio identity. This includes the ‘jingles’ heard as hour openers, show promos, idents and other aspects of production. This would include special idents and jingles, where requested, for the station’s special broadcasts, such as 24 Hours Live, sabbatical officer elections, the SRA Chart Show and any other fundraising events. Their skills with audio production would also be used to assist with sound editing and production during station-wide broadcasts. 

They would work with presenters who wish to have idents and jingles for their own individual shows. The head will give support to presenters in how to use Adobe Audition, and help with the brainstorming of any ideas. 

The Head of Station Sound and Podcasting would also support individuals in the station wishing to create podcasts or other pre-recorded content. This may include training individuals on how to use Adobe Audition (or other editing software), and how to host and produce a good-quality podcast. They would give guidance on planning and presenting episodes, maintaining listener interest throughout an episode, and how best to market an episode once created. 

NOTE: An advanced understanding of Adobe Audition or podcast creation is not required for this role – this can be taught to the successful candidate.
