The elected Heads of Sport will work alongside their co-head to plan, present and produce output for the station’s Sport team. This has previously included two shows: Tuesday Night Sport (Soccer Saturday style  Football show) and the Sunday Sport Show (Wider variety of university, national and international sport),  although this can be changed. The heads would also manage the team’s group chat (if desired) and Instagram page. 

The Sports team regularly commentate on Men’s and Women’s home matches for Exeter City (Football) and Exeter Chiefs (Rugby). Arranging press access to such matches as well as the planning, presenting and producing of such commentaries is the responsibility of the Heads of Sport. Maintaining the station’s professional relationship with such clubs is a highly important area of the role.  

Where the Heads of Sport identify opportunities, they may wish to organise special coverage of other sporting events – this has previously included Varsity games, Movember fundraisers and additional cross-media coverage on the weekend of International Women’s Day. Potential future coverage could include a live Outside Broadcast,  if desired.
