Contrary to popular belief, you do not need ANY medical knowledge whatsoever to be a health and safety officer. The role of the health and safety officer involves filling in the risk assessments for the year, and ensuring that we have the right procedures in place in case anything goes catastrophically wrong. While this role may not be the most complex, it is definitely an essential role in the society.
