The welfare secretary is the first point of contact for those who are struggling in the group - however they are not a therapist and do not need to act as such. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Making an effort to get to know every Sweet on a basic level to gain trust and understanding (this worked well with the coffee dates last year)
• Handling conflict well, mainly internally but this can also be between group to group 
• Being a point of contact for anyone who is struggling within the group, and that any serious concerns are raised to the presidents
• Keeping good energy in more stressful times leading up to big events 
• Bringing people in the group together and finding fun ways to do so - like the Christmas calendar last year
