Overview:
Work closely with the Print Editor-in-Chief to create the content calls and edit the articles submitted to the Print Team. This includes working with writers on drafts and ideas for articles, as well as proofreading their work.
Details:
The role of the Deputy Print Editors involves helping devise content calls, planning the layouts for each magazine, approving and editing article plans, and polishing the submissions ready for printing. You’ll be working really closely with the Print Editor-in-Chief and Creative Director to create the final product, so you’ll get to know them really well. You’ll pick up a lot on the job as you go, learning all about the printing process, for example, but it’s such a rewarding, exciting and enjoyable experience. Generally, it’s very manageable fitting the role around academic work as the busiest periods are really at the beginning – devising the new theme and magazine plan – and then near the end – editing before the magazine goes to print.
