The role of Vice President is extremely rewarding as you will gain an invaluable insight into the overseeing of a society as well as all of the productions. Your main responsibility will be to organise and take minutes for regular committee meetings, ensure auditions and interviews are organised and run smoothly, and provide support throughout the show process to creatives, cast and prod alike. The Vice President works closely with the President, so a good working relationship is key to this role so that you can resolve time sensitive issues, assist the President with problems big and small and represent your society’s interests. You will also often be the first point of call for any queries so being friendly and approachable is also important! As vice president you have a responsibility to support your president and the other members of the committee with their workload, outside of that you can shape your role. Highlights for me have been venue scouting, interviewing creative applicants and assisting Get ins and outs. On committee, you’ll find you’re constantly learning and adapting to problems as they arise, however it’s so rewarding to give back to the society, insuring its success and the happiness of its members.
