Position Information

As Publicity Officer for EUTCo you will oversee and be involved with everything that promotes EUTCo and the shows it puts on.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and posting from EUTCo social media accounts (show graphics and information, EUTCo-wide news or events, announcements, interview and audition information, etc.)
  • Creating events on the EUTCo Facebook page and working with marketing teams to monitor engagement
  • Coordinating a clear, well-organised publicity schedule for show-specific and general EUTCo publicity to ensure clarity and order on EUTCo social media
  • Creating graphics for EUTCo-wide events
  • Organising and ordering committee stash
  • Meeting with marketing managers to ensure deadlines are met
  • Liaising with directors to help the publicity manager realise their vision
  • Helping directors and publicity managers to come up with and execute creative ideas (if needed)
  • Assisting marketing teams in their marketing strategies, for example creating sharing schedules for those involved in the shows
  • Ensuring all publicity maintains a consistent, excellent standard. Additionally, being able to assist with this if it has not been achieved
  • Approving all of EUTCo’s publicity before publishing/distributing, ensuring all information required is present and correct and ensuring that it will not bring any disrepute to the society
  • Creating the publicity for any 48hr shows
  • Potentially managing and replying to any messages on EUTCo social media (though this may be decided by the elected committee)
  • Being a ‘general’ committee member, turning up to events, meetings and show runs

The role of EUTCo’s Publicity Officer can see both incredibly busy and quiet times, but the workload is typically able to be planned out in advance to work around your degree. You will be available to help out on shows in different respects, and encourage people to engage with EUTCo to continue making the brilliant theatre they do. This role is particularly useful if you are looking at a career in marketing or the creative industries, as you can gain experience working with different teams to create an end product, as well as developing your own skills in graphic design. If you have any questions about the role, please feel free to drop me a message!
