Beginners' representatives should have undertaken at least one class with the British Sign Language Society, or taken the BSL for Beginners' Part 1/Part 2/both modules at the Language Centre at the University. Candidates from either situation, society learners or university learners, are both completely valid and encouraged to apply.

Your role will be to support other committee members in the planning and running of events where you feel you could be helpful, but mainly seek out and offer feedback from others in your position (beginners learning BSL). This is a low-stakes role that will not require many hours per week and is mainly focused on welcoming new members to our committee to get some committee experience and support us where needed!
